"If growth, of whatever kind, were to go on and on, it would eventually become monstrous and destructive. Dissolution is needed for new growth to happen." - Eckart Tolle in "The Power of Now" (1999). Eckart Tolle does not write about economics, yet, the statement sounds like it was based on the observation of current economics, the excess of consumerism, ensuing financial crisis and ecological destruction.
